Headed to China

We are headed to China! Flights are scheduled to touch down in Beijing on July 31st, 6 days before the first soccer match begins. Enough time to grow accustomed to the Olympic atmosphere and the local "air" before blowing the first whistle. I am so thrilled the first Olympic "test" is over, now time to be 100% focused on the matches.

Hey Kermit!
As a player, I can't say that I have always "played nicely" with you refs, but you were definitely one of my favorites at both Victor's camp and during Eastern HS matches. I have a great respect for the difficult job that you and your fellow referees have ahead of you. Best of luck!!! I hope you enjoy your unique position and have fun!

That is great kari! I just got word of your blog today. What an honor to be part of this world event. I'm glad I can say I know her when we are watching these events. Although, I am not a big fan of watching soccer on TV. But since you will be refing, then I will for sure make it a point to see some of the games. :) I rather play then watch, but I have not even been doing that. Maybe this will encourage me to find a team and play on. Our prayers will be with you and if their is anything you need us to pray about please let us know. Happy to do it! Have a great time.

Love you always,

Kari, Kermit, Jair et al Im here for whatever you need. Wish I could have joined you. It was fun just thinking of the possibility. Say hi to the big wigs there for me and if you run into the Chinese referee that was an exchange here in MLS a few years back send my greetings, I think his name was Sun Booieng

Kari, Verónica:
The best luck to both of you, and the rest of the USA Referees in the Olympic competition.
I'm sure that the Soccer Referee community in the whole USA is cheering for all of you.
Vero, I'm going to be watching you very closely to see if you learned well what I tried to teach you years ago when you started to feel this passion for refereeing soccer (just kidding!!!!).
Buena suerte en los Juegos Olímpicos de Beijing y ARRIBA USA REFEREES!!! Alberto
